Dr. Phares is an experienced internist and preventive medicine physician, with expertise in disease prevention, lifestyle medicine, and women's health. She received her medical degree from Western University of Health Science, and completed Internal Medicine residency at UC Irvine and Preventive Medicine residency with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. She received a master's degree in public health from Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, and completed a fellowship with the Centers for Disease Control. Dr. Phares is triple board certified in Public Health & Preventive Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Internal Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Preventive Medicine, and certified in Travel Medicine by the International Society of Travel Medicine. She has authored research papers in peer-reviewed medical journals, and served on the Prevention Practice Committee for the American College of Preventive Medicine, developing national guidelines for clinical preventive services. Her practice focuses on lifestyle & internal medicine as well as culinary medicine.
